Not guilty on all counts!
Today, we celebrate Kevin Seelinger’s acquittal and share in the tremendous relief this outcome brings to Kevin, his family, and everyone who has stood beside him throughout this ordeal.
I could not be prouder of the solidarity our membership has shown. Through the uncertainty, the difficult days, and the trial itself, our union remained united. Every expression of support carried an important message: Kevin, you are not facing this alone.
This is exactly why we formed our union. We wanted more than promises. We wanted an organization that shows up, stands firm, and takes care of its members when they need it most. We built FOP Lodge 92 on the belief that the people who spend their careers serving others deserve someone who will stand up for them.
A union’s strength is not measured only by what it accomplishes at the bargaining table. It is also measured by what it does when a member’s livelihood, freedom, and future are on the line. That is when solidarity must be more than a word—it must be a commitment backed by action.
To every member reading this, our promise is clear: We will always stand with our members, fight for our members, and take care of our members. When circumstances are difficult and the pressure is high, we do not step back. We stand beside you and work to ensure you have the representation, support, and fair treatment you deserve. That is the foundation of this organization.
Thank you to Kevin’s defense team for their hard work and dedication, to our leadership and membership for standing together, and to everyone who supported Kevin and his family. Today’s verdict does not erase everything they have endured, but it gives them a long-awaited opportunity to look forward. Our support does not end with the verdict.
Kevin, you are our brother, and this union will continue to stand beside you as you move into the next chapter.
Today is a day for relief, gratitude, and pride in what we have built together. Thank you for being part of a union that understands what it means to show up for one another.
We stand together. We take care of our own. That is what union solidarity looks like.
In solidarity,
Tom Wines
