Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge 92 Issues Statement on Not Guilty Verdict in the Trial of Kevin Seelinger
Erie, Pa. (Oct. 14, 2026) - Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge 92 executive director Tom Wines today issued the following statement:
“Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge 92 thanks the jury for its service and for the care it brought to this difficult case. After hearing the evidence over the course of the trial, the jury found Kevin Seelinger not guilty on all charges. We’re grateful for the verdict and respect the process that produced it.
“Law enforcement officers often have only seconds to make decisions in dangerous, rapidly changing situations. They deserve to have those decisions judged fairly, with full consideration of the facts and the law as they were understood in the moment. Today's verdict reflects that standard and the strength of our justice system.
“Our thoughts remain with the family of Mr. Woodard. Losing a loved one is a tragedy, and we recognize the grief this case has caused in the Erie community. We hope and pray the community will find a path towards healing and forgiveness.
“Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge 92 remains committed to supporting the men and women who protect and serve our communities.”
